Step One: Understand the direction of the adventure
We establish pathways with an initial, open two-way frank and guided conversation in which information is shared, ideas explored and theories hypothesised.
As we get to know each other through increasingly candid conversations, we define the big picture, starting with your legacy – the stamp you hope to leave.
This framework is the reverse order of steps leading to the now. The framework offers and presents possibilities, opportunities and pathways leading to clarity about how we can help you and how we work together.
We will traverse future events, the pleasant and not-so-palatable, business, friends, families, foes, foibles, predilections and equivocations.
A purely financial target is a perfectly good outcome. In a legacy-driven strategy, money may not necessarily be the end game but rather the enabler to the social, familial and personal objectives.
Step Two: Create the map
The initial design is taken from Step one by examining alternative pathways until we establish the best of the pathways.
Step Three: Test the pathways
Pathways are tested against your key variables of flexibility, legality, possibility and above all else, strategy.
The art of the possible meets the art of the desirable.
Step Four: View the landscape
We look at each pathway and the environmental variables and consider about what can be and what cannot be controlled. What are the risk factors on each pathway and what can we prepare for and mitigate against.
Markets and movements are in the no control basket. However, the dates you retire, downsize, move or travel are within your control.
There may be no control over when your children finish school; however, in the control basket is the cost of schooling and its priority within the household budget.
Step Five: Implement the chosen pathways
Yeates & Co facilitates the implementation of a chosen pathway. We navigate the humps and bumps and adapt the strategy and advice as circumstances change.
